This 1 5/8" high mother of pearl Corn Maiden fetish carving is by Zuni carver Brian Yatsattie. The Corn Maiden symbolizes corn, one of the four sacred plants. Note that this piece does have a "flaw", making it look like it has a navel. Flaw is in quotes, however, as in traditional carving, a flaw is not a flaw, it is simply a part of the fetish.
